Chris discovered his passion for retirement planning during his 20-year corporate career. While working at three publicly traded companies, he became fascinated with 401(k) plans and studied them extensively.
Chris noticed many colleagues felt overwhelmed choosing funds and allocating percentages in their plans. This inspired him to help people prepare for retirement, so in 2007, he decided to pursue a career as a financial advisor.
In 2011, Chris earned his CFP® designation and decided to channel his expertise into launching his own firm - Heritage Financial Advisors in Columbia, MD. Now, Chris guides clients into and through retirement with confidence.Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) owns the CFP® certification mark, the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification mark, and the CFP® certification mark (with plaque design) logo in the United States, which it authorizes use of by individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

We have developed a life changing, live experience for our clients. In this exercise we lead clients through a guided discussion and self assessment of three major topics: life, money and giving. Using a wheel as a metaphor, we examine what a balanced life looks like, what a balanced financial life looks like and what a balanced giving life looks like.
We strive to answer the following questions: "Who do I need to become?" and "What habit, discipline or behavior, do I need to START, EXPAND or STOP, to increase my success rating and balance out my wheel?"
Then we will set some SMART goals together.
